Abstract

Differentiated learning is an approach to learning based on the unique needs, abilities, and characteristics among students. The primary goal of differentiated learning is to meet the unique needs of each learner and provide flexibility in enhancing students' learning potential. In the context of this research, differentiation is only applied to the aspect of the learning process, but it shares a similar objective. The implementation of differentiated learning in this research is focused on the teaching of poetry writing. This is due to several identified issues in poetry writing instruction, such as difficulty in determining themes, crafting beautiful words, and time constraints for creating poetry. This research adopts a classroom action research design consisting of two cycles, with stages of planning, implementation, evaluation, and reflection. Data collection techniques used include observation, tests, and documentation. Based on the research findings, it is concluded that the implementation of differentiated learning successfully improved students' poetry writing skills in the classroom. This is evident from the results of Cycle II, with the highest score reaching 93 and the lowest score being 73, with an overall class average of 84.9. More than 94.44% of students achieved the learning targets, while only 5.56% of students did not meet the target. There was a significant improvement of 36.11% compared to the results in Cycle I, which only reached 58.33%.The results of this research demonstrate that the implementation of differentiated learning is highly effective in enhancing students' poetry writing skills at Fase D SMPN 1 Wanayasa. This emphasizes the importance of recognizing individual student differences and using appropriate teaching approaches to meet their needs.
