PENGARUH MODEL WORD SQUARE BERBANTUAN MEDIA WORDWALL TERHADAP HASIL BELAJAR IPA PADA PESERTA DIDIK KELAS IV SDN 13 KURANJI
Abstract
This research was motivated by the low science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 13 Kuranji, Padang. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Word Square learning model assisted by Wordwall media on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 13 Kuranji, Padang. This study employed a quasi-experimental method using the Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The population and sample consisted of all fourth-grade students at SDN 13 Kuranji, totaling 52 students, selected using the saturated sampling technique. Class IVA was assigned as the experimental class taught using the Word Square learning model assisted by Wordwall media, while Class IVB served as the control class and received conventional instruction. Data were collected using a science learning achievement test consisting of 20 multiple-choice questions that had previously been tested for validity, reliability, item discrimination, and difficulty level. Descriptive statistical analysis showed that the mean score of the experimental class was 86.73, while the mean score of the control class was 74.81. Hypothesis testing using the independent sample t-test indicated that the calculated t value (4.049) was higher than the critical t value (1.675) at the 5% significance level. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (H1) was accepted, while the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. The findings indicate that the implementation of the Word Square learning model assisted by Wordwall media has a significant positive effect on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 13 Kuranji, Padang.
